PRESS RELEASE
Bottle Drive Drop-off and Pick-up June 17th
Members of the Clifton Park 13-15 Babe Ruth World Series host team will be
accepting bottle returns June 17th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Price Chopper Shoppers
World at Route 146 and Plank Road.
The Clifton Park World Series players have teamed up with Price Chopper to make the day
full of many happy returns. The team is asking its friends, neighbors and supporters to simply bring their
returnable bottles and cans to the Price Chopper location and the players will do the rest.
To make things even easier, the Clifton Park Babe Ruth World Series host team has also joined forces with
The Saratogian and Community News and will be making house calls to those Shenendehowa School District residents who are in need of a bottle return pick-up.
Residents of the Shenendehowa School District can simply call (518) 701-9524 and leave their address on the
Babe Ruth World Series hotline and their bottle returns will be picked up between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. June 17th.
All of the proceeds will benefit improvements scheduled to be made to the Clifton Common upper quad baseball diamond, including new dugouts, mesh fence covering, new infield turf and infield tarp.
Clifton Park will host its fourth Babe Ruth League, Inc. World Series August 18-25.
The 13 to 15 year-old Babe Ruth World Series is considered “the gem” of the Babe Ruth League, Inc. events as nine teams from across the nation will travel to compete in Clifton Park to determine the World Champion.
Festivities will begin Aug. 17 with the first-ever “Picnic of Champions” held from 5 to 10 p.m. behind the Shenendehowa Senior Center. Former New York Yankee reliever Rich “Goose” Gossage will be the events special guest speaker for the Giffy’s B-B-Q event which includes music performed by the Burners UK.
